When Should You Visit?
When is the best time to visit the Philippines? Of course, that depends on you.
The Philippines is beautiful year-round, but sometimes weather, flight costs, and tourist seasons can affect how you explore its beauty and attractions. The Philippines has two main seasons: the wet season, which lasts from May to October, and the dry season, which lasts from November to April. So before you coordinate your travel plans, check out our tips for the best time to visit the Philippines and embrace everything it has to offer!
The height of the Philippine travel season is during the months of November through April because of the dry, sunny weather. Minimal rain means more time for exploring the beaches, forests, attractions, and landmarks of the Philippines. To avoid especially hot and humid weather, travel to the Philippines during the cooler months between December and February.
Note, however, that this is also the height of tourist season in the Philippines, and beaches can get crowded and flights become much more expensive. And since the Philippines is a Catholic country, flight costs and accommodation can become much more pricey in March and April during Holy Week. So to experience the best of the dry season while maintaining a budget, aim for travelling in November and early December.
In contrast, the wet season often sees fewer tourists as the weather can hinder outdoor activities like the beach or watersports. However, the rain is not always constant and often will not drastically affect travel plans, so long as you keep tabs on typhoon warnings.
And since this is the off-season for tourists, flights and accommodations are much cheaper. Aim for visiting in May or October as they are transition months, meaning that the rain is still light and costs are lower.
So what could the best time to visit the Philippines be? To avoid the height of the tourist season, book the cheapest flights and accommodations, and enjoy the weather, visit the Philippines in late May and early June. Trends show that flight costs are the cheapest in June. The weather is still in transition, so as long as there are no alerts for tropical storms, you can still enjoy a warm and sunny day at the beach.
Of course, the choice is up to you! And no matter when you visit, there’s one thing that we know for sure: it’s more fun in the Philippines.
